Some students of Egba Comprehensive High School have allegedly injured Mr.



Alimeke Ignatius, a divisional police officer attached to Obantoko Division with a broken head during a clash between the school and Asero High School.

The barbaric incident that happened on Monday, November 22 had engaged themselves in a free for fight which led to an uproar in Abeokuta.

The students were said to have thrown stones at themselves, blocked the main road, causing traffic and tension among the residents of the area.

It was gathered that Alimeke had led his operatives to quell the violence but was attacked by the rampaging students who reportedly threw stones at Alimeke and his men, and one of the stones hit his head.

Consequently, Alimeke sustained a grievous injury on his head and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, said the students engaged in a fight, and the police from the Obantoko station were called to take charge of the situation.
