On February 6, 2023, EmPawa artist Joeboy's intellectual property was violated by Latino megastar Bad Bunny, according to Mr.

Eazi, who denounced him on Twitter.

According to Mr. Eazi, Bad Bunny recorded a song without obtaining the usual clearance from the label and the artist.

To dispel any lingering doubt about his assertion, Mr. Eazi went on to post a YouTube link to the relevant song along with his tweet. The CEO of EmPawa didn't stop there; he continued to discuss the copyright violation on LinkedIn.

Mr. Eazi lamented Bad Bunny and his label's disregard for his request for the song to be cleared in a post on his Instagram page. He went on to say that he thought their behavior was disrespectful and demeaning.

The violation of copyrights is a serious offense that carries legal repercussions. Mr. Eazi made the decision to raise awareness of the problem and shed light on it in order to encourage labels and artists to release music with care.

Mr. Eazi is a staunch advocate of creators’ rights, and his actions in this instance are highly commendable.

Unfortunately, as of the time of filing this report, Bad Bunny’s camp has yet to reply and address the accusations made by Mr. Eazi. It remains to be seen if Bad Bunny will apologize and express remorse for the infringement or if a lawsuit will be filed. Whatever the case may be, this is a timely reminder for artists and labels to always ensure that their music is cleared for release in order to avoid legal issues.
