Out of 10 passengers in a public bus yesterday, nine persons including two children; a boy and a girl, died when a container fell on a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos.



Niajacrawl has earlier reported the situation with sketchy details.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said that the truck bearing the container lost control while climbing the bridge.

He said, “Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.

“Investigation revealed that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.

“A total of nine fatalities were recovered, comprising four adult males, three adult females, a girl and a boy. An adult female was rescued alive”
