Obidike emphasized the state's notable progress towards achieving the Global 95-95-95 targets, indicating that Anambra State is currently ranked as the fifth highest in HIV prevalence within the country. Despite the national prevalence standing at 1.4%, Anambra's HIV prevalence takes the lead in the South-East region.

He stated, "It is estimated that 98,960 residents are living with HIV, out of which 58% are aware of their status, and 44,808 are currently on treatment." The commissioner highlighted that the state is on a positive trajectory towards meeting the Global 95-95-95 targets, currently standing at 65:81:93.

A notable achievement mentioned by Obidike is the gradual decline in new infections, showing a 46% reduction between 2021 and 2023. Additionally, AIDS-related deaths have witnessed a 32% decrease during the same period, reflecting the state's commitment to addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
