Following Bola Tinubu's election as president-elect of Nigeria, Bode George, a leader in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has vowed to leave partisan politics behind.

After the March 11 governor's race, George declared he would end his political career.

George bemoaned the presidential election that gave us Tinubu during his appearance on Arise News on Thursday.

The senior statesman charged Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with failing to uphold his promises to guarantee a free and fair election.

He pleaded with Yakubu to let the results of the governorship vote reflect the will of the people.

According to George: “I have decided to retire from partisan politics after the governorship election, and I can decide to go and live anywhere. I want a peaceful life for myself.
“I know this fellow (Tinubu) and he’s not for them. If he had gone through the process, I would have congratulated him. You can’t go through darkness to get to light. I can go and live anywhere, it can be Ghana, Togo, or still remain in Nigeria.”
