In Cross River state, the Police authority have arrested a yet-to-be-identified woman for allegedly beheading her 11-month-old baby in the Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr local government area of the state.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, November 29 and she has been publicly paraded at the Police state headquarters.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, Irene Ugbo said the suspect was almost lynched by a mob after she was apprehended.  She added that the case would be transferred from Ugep to the homicide department for proper investigation.
