Victor Osimhen has received congratulations from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on his Ballon d'Or nomination for 2023.

Osimhen was included on the list of contenders that the organizers unveiled on Wednesday night.

The Napoli hitman made history by becoming the first Nigerian to receive a Ballon d'Or nomination.

On the shortlist, there were another 29 players.

“@MoSalah, @AndreyOnana, Yassine Bounou, @victorOsimhen9.
“Africa has four nominees among the best players in the world in 2023,” CAF wrote on their official X (formerly) handle.

Osimhen helped Napoli win the title last season by scoring 26 goals.
