Carabao Cup Final: Newcastle have advantage – Man Utd boss, Ten Hag
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has claimed Newcastle have an advantage ahead of their Carabao Cup final.
United beat Forest on a 5-0 aggregate to secure their spot in a Wembley final for the first time since 2018.
Ten Hag is on course to end the Red Devils’ trophy drought, which stretches back to the Europa League triumph under Jose Mourinho in 2017.
But the Dutchman knows his team would have to navigate a busy schedule.
United play Barcelona in the Europa League just three days before the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, who will have a free week to prepare.
“We are aware of it, but I have handled this before when I have to play a cup game after we play in Europe with Ajax, so I know how to deal with it."
“Newcastle have an advantage, but it is about attitude and mentality."
“That’s going to be a tough opponent, a great opponent,” Ten Hag said.
