Jennifer Echegini has been handed a late invitation for the Super Falcons' upcoming friendlies against Haiti and New Zealand.

The Florida State University star was a surprise omission from the 23-woman squad released by head coach Randy Waldrum last week.

Echegini was outstanding in the Falcons' 1-0 win against Costa Rica last month.

The midfielder set up Esther Okoronkwo for the decisive goal as the Super Falcons ended their seven-game winless streak.

The Super Falcons will take on Haiti in the first friendly at the Emir Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey, on April 7.

The second friendly against New Zealand is billed for the Mardan Sports Complex, also in Antalya, on April 11.

The two friendlies are to get the team in shape ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
