Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez, has hailed left-back, Alejandro Balde, for his impressive performance against Elche.

Balde registered two assists as Barcelona defeated Elche 3-0 in a LaLiga tie at Camp Nou.

The 18-year-old has now played in five games for Barcelona this season and has provided three assists to his teammates.

His emergence has seen experienced defender Jordi Alba on the bench for the majority of the season so far.

However, Xavi said that Balde never ceases to amaze him, adding that he has confidence and personality.

“I have seen that they did a lot of individual marking, and Balde can generate superiorities inside and out."

It never ceases to amaze me that an 18-year-old boy is at this level. "He has a lot of confidence and personality, he has great physical condition, and he’s going to give us a lot,” Xavi said (via Diario Sport).
