The Cremonese forward, Cyriel Dessers, is a major doubt for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Costa Rica and Portugal.

Cremonese's Dessers left the field in tears after he was forced out of Cremonese’s goalless draw with Udinese due to an injury last weekend.

The striker was replaced by Cristian Buonaiuto early in the game as a result of the setback.

While the extent of the injury is unknown at the moment, Dessers, who appeared to be in serious discomfort, could be left out of the Super Eagles squad for the friendlies.

The Super Eagles will take on Costa Rica in their first friendly on November 10.

The second friendly against Portugal is billed for Lisbon on November 17.

Head coach Jose Peseiro is expected to release his list for both friendlies this week.
