Lobi Stars debunk Atule’s Rivers United transfer rumour
Lobi Stars have debunked claims that forward Joseph Atule has joined Rivers United on a lucrative deal.
Atule was rumored to have signed a contract with the Port Harcourt club, which will see him earn N600,000.
According to the club’s media, Atule is in transit with the team to Eket for their Naija Super Eight playoffs against City FC.
The match is billed for Friday at the Eket Township Stadium.
The Daily Post also inquired from a different source about the actual presence of the player on the team bus, which was confirmed as true.
Atule was one of the standout performers for the Markurdi-based side in the 2022–23 Nigeria Premier League season.
He was named to the Team of the Season following his impressive displays.
Despite the demise of his father and sister during the championship playoffs in Lagos, Atule still maintained his top form.
