After reaching "peace" with Joan Laporta, the club's president, Lionel Messi will return to Barcelona in the upcoming summer.

Last year, Messi signed a free agent contract with Paris Saint-Germain after leaving the Nou Camp.

When the 35-year-old announced his departure, Barca issued a statement explaining that LaLiga's financial regulations had forced them to make the decision.

Messi's deal with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2019, but he is now expected to join the LaLiga giants.

The player will return to Barcelona on July 1, 2023, after just two years at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Argentine reporter Veronica Brunati.

Messi is expected to rejoin the team after reaching an understanding with Laporta, the subject of the controversy two years ago.
