PSG’s talks with Nagelsmann to become new manager collapses
After unsuccessful negotiations, Julian Nagelsmann is unlikely to become the next manager of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The Ligue 1 champions have now turned their attention to former midfielder Thiago Motta as a potential candidate.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Nagelsmann and PSG were unable to reach an agreement on crucial aspects of the potential deal. Despite being a high-profile manager in the market, Nagelsmann's discussions with PSG have fallen through.
Before appointing Ange Postecoglou, Nagelsmann was also considered by Tottenham for the managerial position. However, PSG's interest in him made him one of the most sought-after managers.
Following a disappointing season in which they won Ligue 1 but were eliminated from the Champions League by Nagelsmann's former team Bayern Munich in the round of 16, PSG decided to part ways with Christophe Galtier, their previous manager.
Reports suggest that PSG has already been in contact with Thiago Motta, who currently manages Bologna in Serie A. Motta, who had a playing stint with PSG from 2012 to 2018, is now being considered as a potential candidate for the managerial role.
