You can’t just do that – Klopp says Chelsea’s downfall is good
Chelsea's owners have come under fire from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for giving the club's managers an impossible task.
The Chelsea team has more players than any one manager can manage, according to the German manager.
The Liverpool manager added that he is "a little happy" about Chelsea's defeat this year.
He claimed that the Blues' situation would demonstrate to the owners that success cannot be ensured simply by bringing in star players.
The owners, under Todd Boehly's direction, have invested more than £600 million in 17 players over the course of two transfer windows since Roman Abramovich was made to leave the club.
Poor performance and the dismissal of two managers, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, have been brought on by the massive spending.
“I feel a little bit for Chelsea, to be honest, because it’s not going well. I think they’re a top, top team, but on the other side, it’s good to see that you cannot just bring top players together and think it works out.
“You have to build a team, and that’s what the guys there underestimated and gave their coaches a nearly impossible job to do.”
